Package Description

MODX Start will do the following on install:

• create 'MODX Start' Category
• add 'modx_start' Namespace
• setup 'modx_start' default Lexicon topic
• add a demo translation in the 'modx_start' Lexicons
• create Homepage and Basic page templates
• create site settings: 'error_page', 'default_template', 'site_unavailable_page', 'unauthorized_page'
• create settings for 'web' context: 'error_page', 'default_template', 'site_unavailable_page', 'unauthorized_page' (this makes creating a multiligual site later easy)
• create resources and set correct settings and template: 'Error page', 'Site offline', 'Not allowed', 'sitemap'

Usage/Installation Instructions

The steps to install MODX Start for MODX Revolution are easy!

NOTE: we highly recommend using MODX Revolution 2.4.2-pl or higher with this theme.

Via package manager

download modx_start from 'Extras' > 'Installer' > 'Download extras' > search for 'MODX Start'download and the 'MODX Start' packagefollow the steps of the installafter the installation is finished click 'OK' Finally go to 'Manage' > 'Clear Cache' (for MODX 2.2 and lower 'Site' > 'Clear Cache')Make sure you activate Friendly URL's (more info: https://rtfm.modx.com/revolution/2.x/administering-your-site/using-friendly-urls)

Manual in installation

in the main menu select 'Extras' > 'Installer'on Package Management page click on the little arrow next to 'Download Extras' and choose 'Upload a package'the theme should now be listed on the Package Management page Click on the 'Install' button under the packagefollow the steps of the installafter the installation is finished click 'OK' Finally go to 'Manage' > 'Clear Cache' (for MODX 2.2 and lower 'Site' > 'Clear Cache')Make sure you activate Friendly URL's (more info: https://rtfm.modx.com/revolution/2.x/administering-your-site/using-friendly-urls)

Your theme for MODX Revolution is installed and ready to go! To view the site click on 'Content' > 'Preview Site'

Updating

To update MODX Start, simply download the new version of MODX Start from the Extras Installer and repeat the installation steps.
